Nessun Dorma is one of those songs where, if it's sung by someone capable of doing it justice, it never fails to send shivers up my spine. Even when it's had the guts edited out of it, like in the below clip.

I don't know anything about opera, and I got shivers, too!

Wow, Britain's Got Talent is VERY different than America's Got Talent. No one would ever sing opera over here, and if they did, the audience would be booing like crazy, I'm sure. (And my husband thinks there's no difference between the US and the UK!)

I hate those comments about how he's "a lump of coal" and "a frog we're going to turn into a prince." How condescending!

And nothing punctuates opera like Aerosmith. ;-)

I know, I was struck by those comments as well! She was really stuck on that theme.

How incongruous is the Aerosmith? I hate that song! It's like they're desperately trying to inject some false relevance into the whole thing. It doesn't need it! His performance speaks for itself!

I don't watch Australia's got Talent, but I know that the winner of last year's Australian Idol sang Nessun Dorma during the competition. He was good but not as good as this guy! Who, btw, has subsequently won the competition, which is nice :-)
