I may be in the minority here but I think that one of the best and funniest Disney (not Pixar) movies--certainly of the last ten or so years--is the Emperor's New Groove. A large part of that was due to Kronk. So squeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Sure, it'll probably be crappy. But I can dream!

Well, the Disney record for years-later sequels of their animated movies isn't the best (Lion King 2 or Little Mermaid 2, anyone? *g*) but hopefully they've learnt SOMETHING from Pixar by now.

Short term solution. The Pixar staff would all probably die quite soon after being removed from their utopian communal happy wonderland Steve Jobs-ey environment. Dinsey would crush the pinko right out of them, and with it any creative ability and the will to live.

And then, of course, movie-lovers everywhere would commit ritualistic suicide, refusing to live without the only production company to release consistently excellent movies for the last ten years *g*

Ah, but isn't Shrek Dreamworks? Hell, they're probably owned by the same people anyway *suspects international conspiracy* And at any rate your point is proved by the existence of TENG itself *g*

Although I do have to confess I found the second Shrek far inferior to the first. I didn't even finish watching it.

Shrek 2 is good for in-jokes and the Fairy Godmother. And Rupert Everett. I lost count of how many rip-offs they managed to stuff in there.

Oh, and it gets an extra-special vote, because: Puss in Boots. GIMME.

Yes, I suspect that at some point I will have to force myself to get it again, if only to enjoy again the gloriousness of Everett and Puss-in-Boots. (Jennifer Saunders I'll always love for the first couple of seasons of Absolutely Fabulous, but every time I've seen her recently she's annoyed the pants off of me.)
