in which I whine a lot

The guy who first played me Bob Dylan's brilliant "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)" said it was Dylan's scattershot attack on all the repellent figures and institutions of his day. What's sick is that it's just as relevant forty years on. How much has changed? Things have really only become worse, especially in regards to the ever-increasing influence/stranglehold corporations have on us and the constant toadying of governments to them. My favourite verse:

Old lady judges watch people in pairs
Limited in sex, they dare
To push fake morals, insult and stare
While money doesn't talk, it swears
Obscenity, who really cares
Propaganda, all is phony.

First three lines remind you of any recent news events heralding from Lafayette?

Anyway, the moon is full tonight and there are a few of just the right sort of clouds to have a silver lining, and it's nice to be reminded that as ugly as people get the natural world will always be stunning (until we ruin it).

Hhm. I wouldnt have thought so, but the right person at the right time, I guess so.

Fandoms. Intelligent conversation. Pretty movies with pretty boys/girls. Me *g*

Narrow mindedness. Wars. Destruction of the planet. Running out of cookies. That sort of thing

Classic British comedies. Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, Monty Python, etc. The Beatles. The OC ;) Many things

A perfect world.

I'd like to think pretty well, but can you ever truly know a person?

Just being with you and doing nothing makes me happy :)

I think everyone is capable, if not willing. Under certain circumstances, I would think so, but it would tear you up afterwards.

Yeah, sure! I just stumbled ramdomly across your journal, but I liked what you had to say. You seem really cool. I had to post anonymously, since I don't have a lj account (I'm thinking about it). But my name is Kelly and I live in your sister city of Austin, Texas. How cool is that? ;-) I also loved Rosencrantz and Guildentern are Dead! I've only seen it once, but I'm sure I'll see it many more times in my life.

R&G are Dead is definitely one of those movies you can return to time and time again and with just as much enjoyment. It's just so clever - and it doesn't hurt that Tim Roth and Gary Oldman are hot stuff ;-)
