May. 26th, 2003 10:07 pmGood for some laughs: Guide to Surviving Animal Attacks.
I have really absolutely nothing interesting to say, so I'll say these instead.
I've been getting pretty good marks on all my assignments. Go me!
I expected La (Le?) Cage Aux Folles to be better than The Birdcage, but to my surprise the latter is an almost verbatim translation, except with funnier performances. I will say, however, that the problem may have been my anti-subtle mood and the awful dubbing.
My 16 yr old cousin in Coventry, near Birmingham in England, is pregnant to a guy she doesn't really care about, and, awfully, horribly, all I can think of is this song, and she's even KEEPING the baby, so there's obviously something wrong with me.
Tonight is the last episode of Sports Night, which is very very sad, because I absolutely adore these guys :-( Why only two seasons, whyyyyyyyyyyy. Not fair. I mean, Buffy's in a place of crap, Angel's just put on it's turn signal for the road leading there (despite Faith), what the hell else is on? Malcolm in the Middle I guess, which continues to be quality. Really, the only good thing about Smallville are the Luthors and the SV fandom. And the HoYay. So, back to SN, I'm gonna have to buy the DVDs so I can see all the little bits I missed where the tape buggered up, and the ep I missed that
lydia_petze's tapes didn't cover. And I think I'll have to borrow The West Wing from the library, or something, because it's too late to get in now, but if it's anything like SN I'm missing out. And apparently Joshua Malina is in it. And I also borrowed Don't Tell Mom, The Babysitter's Dead, which was as shit as I remembered it, but I still bust a gust laughing at (with?) Josh Charles and David Duchovny. Next mission: find the gay college love triangle JC one.
And dammit, I keep forgetting to get a ticket for Cabaret. Note to self: get ticket for Cabaret. Does anyone wanna go with me? Anyone? Bueller? FINE.
It's bloody c-c-c-c-c-cold.

I remember getting into SN *just* as the campaign to save it was hotting up. For a little while there, it actually looked pretty hopeful, but, sadly, no go. Everyone was pretty crushed, especially as it hadn't even reached that magic number of episodes that would have allowed the re-runs to go into syndication. I still fume occasionally over the shithouse treatment it recieved - almost zero promotion from the network, etc. Bloody buggers couldn't work out what to bill it as (is it a comedy? drama? pseudo-doco?) so they just didn't bother. Lord forbid it didn't fit into any of their pre-ordained boxes.
Dan and Casey are just the cutest, aren't they? I just love Peter Krause - he has this wonderfully ironic manner and often when he's riffing with Dan/Josh he has this *sparkle* in his eyes - like he's about to laugh any moment. Too gorgeous. I'd kill for some out-takes.
There's also some nice potential for Natalie/Dana, too - I love that episode where Dana is dressed like a biker. Natalie's tongue is practically on the floor :-)
And I think I'll have to borrow The West Wing from the library, or something,
FWIW, I tried a few times to get into WW, and just couldn't. Let me know if you do, though, I might give it another try.

Er, Threesome I think it's called. Sel showed me that one day. It's Hollywood gay, doesn't really go far enough, but it's pretty sweet. Don't forget Josh was also in Dead Poets Society - he gets some nice scenes, especially near the end. And Peter Krause has a major role in Six Feet Under, where he gets naked a LOT. Hehehehehe. That oughtta keep you busy *eg*

Date: 2003-05-27 01:48 am (UTC)To the nth degree. What I love is how when they're apart, they're great, but when they're together, they're brilliant. It's so bad, I get all these maternal feelings, then all these drooly feelings, I'm so confused. I wanna bottle them and put them on my mantlepiece. Although I have to say Dan/Josh is my favourite, I think they're both just fantastic. Peter Krause scares me sometimes (in a good way) :-D
I do love the rest of the team too, though, especially Isaac, although poor Felicity Huffman had to put up with some pretty annoying Dana characterisation and writing in the middle. Oh, and William H Macy! He just gets better every time I see him.
I'd kill for some out-takes.
Yeah, I hear the DVDs have no extras, which is very sucky.
I've just started downloading Six Feet Under :-) I'm really enjoying it, it's quite hilarious in places. Lauren Ambrose and Michael C Hall are great, and the theme music is exy. Thanks for the Dead Poets reminder, I'll grab that next time I go out too.
