The thing that gets me about Milk, which is an entertaining, well-acted, poignant movie, is that it's all about visibility and gay rights and acceptance and normality, made in this fucking closeted system with straight or closeted actors, so the loudest fucking noise in the movie is not anything to do with Prop 8 or even Harvey himself but the deafening fucking silence spilling out of the agents' and studios' offices in fucking LA.

So here's a massive fuck you to Hollywood: thanks a bunch for nothing, assholes.

No, I'm kidding. Part of what bothered me about the movie was that I didn't find it political enough, but it was sort of a fuzzy dissatisfaction. You helped me refine that thought.

ETA: I mean, I did really enjoy watching the movie, but I still agree with what you said here.
