For those who've seen The Strangers (which is fucking scary, by the way), what was the point of the ending? Did they let Liv Tyler live because it was too hard (cf: "It'll be easier next time")? I thought that was kind of a cheap shot that negated all the wonderful suspense built up beforehand.
