Jeffrey K Tulis has am extremely interesting analysis of the difference between Obama and Clinton at Balkinisation; very timely, considering Edwards's decision to pull out.

In contrast, all recent presidents, and especially Senator Clinton, understand the President as the chief legislator, as the person and the place where legislation is made.

So true!

Thanks for posting this. I'm interested in the differences between the two, and also leery of the "here's my bill, approve it bitches!" attitude Bush2.0 and Clinton2.0 have either relied on, or seem to favor as a tactic. I'm also wondering whether Obama will be able to put together the right team to be able to balance the tactics. His vision of a leader who sets the principles and the tone is really pretty awesome, I just hope he can generate the buy in from everyone else in Washington.
