Sep. 10th, 2002 05:45 pmI'm surprised by how much darker The Princess Bride is as a novel, compared to the movie. Goldman is far more morbid. I really enjoyed the book, just as much as the movie, although I think the movie will in the end have more long-term appeal; it seems he took the opportunity to refine much of dialogue (such as Westley's 'breasts' quip).
