So Ruth Cracknell died :-( Mother and Son was one of my favourite shows growing up; haven't seen an episode for ages so can't say if it is all that good, but I have v. fond memories.

I seem to be perpetually cold. Goddamn winter. Can't get warm.

Reading The Hippopotamus by Stephen Fry atm, as well about about a million other things. I loved Making History and well, Stephen's an absolute champ. Saw him on Parkinson a few weeks ago and laughed my socks off. He said something along the lines of, 'I knew I was gay ever since I was born. I turned around, looked up at it, and said, 'right, I'm never going up one of them again''

I'm exceptionally artistic!

I used to watch it a lot too - I'm pretty sure it was good in that it managed to convey the sheer *frustration* that poor man (Arthur?) felt. I understand it a little better now that my grandmother is starting to exhibit some Maggieness. I think, though you're right, memory isn't always reliable, that that show managed to convey some of the darker side of humanity cloaked in a veil of comedy. Something we Aussies do very well, iidssm.

Or maybe I'm just thinking that way because I'm on a ST:TNG kick right now, and as much as I adore that show, they were very big on their moralising.
