Dirty Three concert:
Got there 1/2 an hour earlier than anyone else, because I thought that door opening time was starting time *smack on the head*. Warren Ellis is brilliant and can play the violin like nothing on earth. What is it with cool guitarists, are they all bloody called Mick? And Michelle, you know the drum 'solo' bit in A Perfect Drug? That's what the drummer was like the whole time; it made my hands cramp just to look at him. Warren was throwing himself all over the stage, so I could see him most of the time even though I managed to position myself behind the tallest chick in the venue. This is becoming a nasty habit. They were brilliant, of course, and played continuously for over two hours; now that's stamina. They played Everything's Fucked (yay!) & Sea Above Sky Below at the request of a Mr. Tim in the audience. Warren was a champ and talked to the audience quite a lot, more than anyone else I've seen. And come on, how can you say a band's not cool when the percussion on a love song is someone tapping their wedding ring against a violin? Support guy was very good too, and an Adelaidian no less. Shock horror. He came on stage barefoot, which was hilarious.
I was at lainy's today (love ya), channel surfing on Foxtel, happened upon some Discovery type show on the Discovery channel that's just about to begin. The narrator said three words and I realised it was Alan Rickman. Yeeeeay. He was rabbiting about someone having a blood nose and I still melted, and have spent the rest of the day in a puddle. It made my day. Plus, there's a Nick special on Fox tonight, and my aunty's taping it for me. woooooowoooo.
On the whole, a good couple of days. Except for all the unsleep I've been ungetting.

If I lived in Middle-Earth, it would be in: The Shire The rolling green hills, the springtime weather, and especially being surrounded by the ones you love makes the Shire a comfortable area for you. You love being surrounded only by the ones you care about, and you only desire this in an environment that is vast and open to nature, unlike in the cities or the caves.
