Hahah! Yes, I'm not particularly excited about it, either. Love the old ones. Hate the new ones. And not 'cus I'm a purist... but because the new ones suck. Don't expect this last one to deviate from this trend of crappiness. Will probably never see it.
Really? I thought it was pretty cool. By far the best of the new 3. I'm pretty sure there were some plot holes but seeing as I havent seen the original 3 in a few years I couldnt really remember too much.
My favourite bit was when the droid reaches out to touch R2D2 and R2D2 zaps him so the droid kicks him over. I'm not sure why.
The whole "*gasp* *wheeze* LUKE! *gasp* *wheeze* LEIA!" thing was pretty shite i thought.
You know, I now have a mental image of poopoos on little legs brandishing spears and charging the troops en-masse. Kinda like extra-icky MrPotatoheads that have a special disintegration attack when blasted...
Eh, it's worth it just to get the connection to the old ones, and I'll admit there are a couple of cool bits, but don't waste the money on a trip to the cinema *g*
I actually thought Phanton Menace was better, if only for the fact that Amidala, or Padme or whatever, was actually cool in that movie and not just an incubator and the reason for Annikin to turn TEH EVILL!!. I don't even know about plot holes (although, Chewey must have been a lot older than I always assumed *g*) but I just thought it was a really badly put together movie--Lucas (who reached a new level in excruciating dialogue even for him in this one) just thrust the characters into whatever positions he needed them to be in regardless of motivation, and it made Annikin especially look pretty dumb. Plus the special effects! Some were cool (like the very first few seconds!) but really, George, on the whole I've seen better on Stargate. Yoda doesn't hold a candle to Gollum.
