HARRY POTTER SURVEY
1) Who introduced you to Harry Potter?:
Lainy, by getting me to see the movie. Previously I didn't want to read it because my sister loved them, and I thought I was too good to read such a popular book.
2) What was your first reaction to reading the books?:
Next!
3) How many times have you read each book?:
Between 2-4 times. Plus a lot of skimming to the good bits that can't count as a real read.
4) If you could change anything about the books, what would it be?:
Heh, heh, heh. No comment.
5) If you could give J.K. Rowling any advice for the upcoming books in the series, what would it be?:
Just do your thing and I'll buy them.
6) If you could change the titles of the books that she's written so far and/or choose the titles for upcoming books, what would they be?:
Meh, the ones she's got a cool.
7) J.K. does not plan to do this, but would you want her to continue the series after Harry graduates?:
Nah. If she kills Harry off at the end (which would be too cool) she can't anyway.
8) If she did, what would some of the titles be?:
Harry Potter and the Outrageous Gay Sex Scandal
9) Which book is your favorite and why?:
GoF. Or CoS.
Part 2: the fics
1) Slash or non-slash?:
slash
2) What are your favorite slash and non-slash shippers?:
You mean ships....and that'd be Harry/Snape, Fred/George, Oliver/Percy, Snape/Quirell
3) What is your favorite website for fanfiction?:
Walking the Plank.
4) Who is your favorite fanfic author?:
Cybele. Nym. Telanu. Midnight Blue. Plus the ones I've forgotten.
5) What is your favorite fic?
It changes
6) Do you write fanfiction?:
No
7) Why or why not?:
I can't write
8) Why haven't you read my fics?
Because the quiz has done little to reccommend your writing.
Part 3: you
Oh goodie
1) If you were at Hogwarts, what house would you be in and why?:
I'm usually a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw
2) Who is your favourite character and why?:
Ssssssnape.
3) Which character are you most like and why?:
I dunno. Harry perhaps - he is an everyman. I can't think of anyone weird enough. Perhaps Snape, the Antisocial Bastard. But he's cooler than me.
4) When you meet someone, do you automatically determine which house they would be in or am I the only freak who does that?
No. And trust me, I'm in no position to judge your Fannish Freakosity Quotient (FFQ).
5) Do you know anyone who reminds you of characters from the book?:
Well, they're pretty stock characters, so If I looked hard enough...a couple of my teachers, for intance, match Dumbledore in eccentricity.
6) How do you think the books would be different if you were at Hogwarts?
Not different at all; the Huffpuffs and Ravenclaws don't get much of a mention.
7) If you were on the Quidditch team, what position would you play?:
Hahaha! Me! On a sports team!
8) Which class would you most look forward to?:
Heh, potions.
9) What type of pet would you have?:
A sssssnake. Doodoodoo.
10) What is your favorite wizard candy?:
Froggses, we loves them, we does.
11) What is your favorite store (in either Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley, or Hogsmeade)?:
The bookstore in Diagon Alley (sans Lockhart).
Part 4: the movie/the music
1) Did you see the movie?:
Yahuh
2) If not, why didn't you?:
n/a
3) How does the movie compare to the book?:
They're each good for different things...I'm too emotionally attatched to both to judge them objectively.
4) If you were doing the casting, who would you hire to play some of the characters (i.e. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Dumbledore, Mrs. Norris... etc.)?:
Iam McKellen to play Dumbledore!
5) Don't you think Harry Potter should have gotten the Academy Award for Best Original Score instead of Lord of the Rings? (just AGREE, dammit):
Didn't pay much attention to the score in either...the theme for HP can get a little annoying, but that's only because I've heard it a million more times than the LOTR music. Actually, I can't really remember any of the music from the latter movie.
6) How many times have you seen the movie?:
Uh, three, plus other times with judicious fast forwarding. Plus, extra scenes a lot.
7) What was your favorite scene?:
First potions class (esp. extended version). Also Snape/Quirell interation.
8) Is John Williams a genius or what? (again... just agree):
not really
9) If you were crazy enough to disagree, who do you think could have done a better job with the music for the movie?:
I dunno
10) Who do you think the best actress and/or actor in the movie was/were?
Well, Alan Rickman, although he does play Snape different to the books. Maggie Smith and Ian Hart were brilliant. Sean Biggerstaff was reeealy cool.
11) ...the worst?:
Richard Harris. Where the hell did Dumbledore's sense of humour go?
12) Were there any people who were perfectly in character?:
Yeah. FnG didn't get as many funny lines, but that's not their fault. I thought Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were pretty damn close. The dude who played Filch. Ian Hart and Maggie Smith again.
13) Anybody who was so completely out of character you just wanted to scream?:
Dumbledore. Mostly.
14) What was your first reaction to seeing the movie?:
Oooh, this is cool. Oh look, that lady can turn into a cat! Oooh, you nasty people. Yum. Look at all the pretty people. Ooh! That Snape's a nasty man. Oooooo! Heh heh. Quirell fainted. Ooh! Bad Quirell! No! Dude, that's just like in The Last Crusade.
.....something like that.
15) If you were J.K. Rowling, how would you react to seeing the movie?:
I think she would have thought it was pretty cool seeing stuff like the sets and stuff. The moving pictures etc. I imagine it'd be pretty flattering.
