SO GUESS WHAT? TODAY I TOOK MY THESIS IN TO THE BINDER'S.
It's due tomorrow; I'm handing it up tomorrow. Go figure!!
It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, and one of the lamest. Go figure.
So anyway I'm applying for a PhD scholarship.
Oh shit I haven't done my taxes yet.


BUT ANYWAY, WHAT IS UP WITH

So tomorrow while I wait for the thing to be ready I am going to INTO A BOOKSTORE to buy the first Sarah Monette novel and Throne of Jade if it is out, oh please got let it be out. Then I am going into JB's to get SUPERNATURAL SEASON TWO YEAH BABY YEAH! Finally, finally, fucking finally. This was my reward to myself. I that rewards suck too late.

I am going to get all the latest episodes of House. I am going to catch up with As the World Turns--

OMG CONGRATULATIONS! That's so great. It seems like everyone's finishing their postgrad stuff this year except me. I'm starting next year.

I think Honours counts as postgrad, at least it does in my field. What are you doing your PhD on?

oh jesus knows. In my application I put Postmodern and Derridian Ethics but that was just because I couldn't think of anything else and the little I've read of Derrida's notions of unconditionality intrigue me. But I don't even know if they'll let me do that in a Politics department.

Forgive me if you mention this every day, but what is your field?

Nursing. Most students, if they do honours, work at least a year after graduation before going back and doing it. I'll be doing a research masters next year. Hopefully.

Your subject sounds much more interesting though.

Oh, right, I thought you were studying outside of working as a nurse. Sorry! Have you picked a focus for your research yet? I really have no idea. I don't think I want to do queer theory a-bloody-gain but who knows.

I'll probably use the project I just submitted a grant application for, but I work in research, so it's not going to be much of a stretch to find something. I've currently got something like four systematic reviews and two primary research projects on the go.

Woooooo! CONGRATS ON FINISHING TEH THESIS OF DOOM.

I'm living in Japan, having come over to work for a company that has just applied for bankruptcy and hasn't paid my last month's salary (we get paid monthly). Currently facing eviction and the prospect of nowhere to live. INTERESTING TIMES.

lemmealone watched the WHOLE SERIES in one weekend. From scratch. Knowing very little about it. We were wrecked by the end. Old Gregg was great but I think I liked Milky Joe best, that was just epically weird.

Top Gear is love, honestly. Try Revved Up, The Challenges or Winter Olympics, but my dear, I can send you a buttload of episodes! Give me your address again and I'll make up disks and (finally) return your property to you as well.

Oh, darn. Thanks for letting me know, it turns out the account's not configured properly. I only use it when I'm at Lauren's cause I can't get to my POP account. FYI, I usually still use jessie at chunga and the lj address will get me there too.

I don't think you did - it was some Boston Legal (oh god, cracky!) Daily Show (eeeee!) Strangers With Candy (which I didn't *quite* get, but I'll give it another crack) Arrested Development, Kitchen Confidential, The Tick (eeeeee again) and Twitch City, I think. I have seen some QI but not with Jezza, damn! The man is hilarious, I'll have to try and find it.
