There's a ton of top-notch stories in yuletide this year but for my money, the best thing in there is The Buried Treasure Racket, by Dorinda (anyone know if she's on lj?). It's The Sting, that other mind-blowingly awesome Newman/Redford movie, and this is equally, if not more so awesome (because, perectly detailed con, humour, attractive people, plus sex!). It's loooooong, and lusciously detailed, and brimming with scorching UST and precise emotional arcs and clever, clever plotting. Don't miss it. You probably will be fine even without canon knowledge (although if you haven't seen the movie--WHY?????????)

Dorinda's not on LJ (officially) until she finishes her dissertation. But she's planning on being here once she's done! And in the meantime, you can send her letters of comment - I can testify that she is extremely patient and kind via email.

And, yes, her story was incredible this year. (As it is every year - seriously, she's amazing.) I have been waiting to read just that story for years.

That's precisely what I wrote in my comment! The second you finish watching it you think, now, right, I want to know what con they do next, and also how they manage to sex each other up. And to find a story that detailed all that so in such a nuanced, IC, clever way was beyond my wildest dreams. I hope everyone gives it a shot.
